Executive Director
Golden is a Southwest kid at heart, growing up in a small mountain town in Colorado. She witnessed her Mexican American grandparent’s community organizing for basic needs in their neighborhood as a child, and it instilled in her the values of community connection and mutual aid. These principals have guided her throughout both her personal life and career. She spent 10 years at the Florence Immigrant & Refugee Rights Project, where she cultivated her immigration law expertise and became their first Deputy Director, overseeing legal, social services, and pro bono programs that serve thousands of immigrants detained in Arizona. In 2023, Golden joined the Office of Refugee Resettlement as a Policy Advisor, where she worked on federal policies impacting the care and custody of unaccompanied children. As a founding board member and later as an avid supporter, she has been incredibly amazed and proud of PLAN’s work. For Golden, it is an honor to be in her new role of Executive Director at PLAN. Golden is happiest hanging out with her family and friends, and watching her son play fútbol.
